The Usual Aims

The four horsemen of NearBeach improvements are making an appearance again. These four aims will constantly be in each months aims, as they have no end goal. There are always small and large improvements we can achieve with these aims, and we aim to do improvements for these each month;

• Full site testing and bug fixing
• Documentation testing and improving
• Improvements to Unit Testing
• Improvements to Marketing Site

Improvements to NearBeach

• Replace webpack with vite. We are using Vitest to our unit testing, and want to simplify the building and testing of NearBeach
• Card70 - Write processes on keeping packages updated. NearBeach uses a LOT of external libraries, and many of the times these need to be updated. We want to be able to push these updates separate from the NearBeach development cycle.
• Card179 - Construction of a diagnostic page. There are many problems that can go wrong with system administration. A simple diagnostic page could help improve the investigation steps of diagnosing those problems. This page will include but not limitied too;
  • Email connections
  • Testing uploads/downloads
  • Checking core configurations
• Card306 - Implementing the ability to edit notes on objects
• Card312 - Implement an alert telling users the requirement/item is currently closed
• Card314 - Depreciating search mixins
• Card220 - Podman container
• Card311 - Implement end-to-end testing into the CI/CD pipeline (CircleCI)

 

New Features For NearBeach

Card322 - Custom object "Status" editor

We have recently implemented NearBeach flow, which allows users to have custom status on each object. At the moment the only way to implement these status' is to do it insdie the Django Admin Dashboard.

We will build functionality that will allow the user to, create, edit, and sort these custom status in the system.

Gantt Charts

Project management is not project management without Gantt Charts. We are finally re-implementing the back into NearBeach.

Sprints

The sprints feature will slowly be built over the next couple of months. There are many features we would like to place into the Sprints section of NearBeach.
