Connecting NearBeach up with external applications will hopefully extend NearBeach's capability, allowing users to create applications for NearBeach, i.e. Time management software connected to user's projects/tasks. This month we are hoping to release Phase 2 of the NearBeach's API which will deal with the Child objects;
This will be the last phase for the version 0 of the API, however it will not be the last improvements we'll add. We are hoping to move all front end calls to the API in the 0.32 branch. This will represent the version 1 of the API, however a lot of planning needs to occur before we start this giant task.
People's privacy is very important, it is one of the reasons we don't collect any user data at NearBeach. The marketing site has no tracking or cookies on it, and the application itself does not send any information to our servers.
General Data Protection Regulation has been setup by the European Union. We would like to setup the ability for an administrator to replace/wipe a customer's details from the NearBeach records. This will involve our GDPR wizard which will search through the database and replace the offending data with scrambled data.
Like many project management systems out there, we will need to implement a way a project/task can be estimated. For example a user might use story points. We are investigating how this feature will be re-implemented back into NearBeach and what new functionality it could handle. i.e implementing an estimation feature where multiple users could supply estimations.
Card342 - Implementation of Story Points - for Job Quotation
We do not want to restrict NearBeach to English speaking users. We would like to offer NearBeach to anyone, no matter their language. Translating NearBeach into multiple different languages will open up NearBeach as a useful tool for everyone.
Currently we need to research the most effective way we can implement this, and going forward open up the doors for anyone to submit a translation into NearBeach. Following the translation of NearBeach we will also need to translate the documentation.
